Hey, heads up everyone, it seems like the porn bots’ new thing is taking popular text posts, completely erasing the original text, and replacing it with their own spam links. To…make it look like they have more notes than they actually do, I guess??? Anyway I only found out because I saw some weird porny tags on reblogs of a totally clean post of mine, so I’d advise getting TagViewer if you don’t already have it and keeping an eye out just in case

@thebibliosphere Might be worth a reblurb on your end if you haven’t already

They’ve been doing this for a while and it’s endlessly annoying. Tag viewer from new xkit is an excellent way of spotting these posts so you can report and flag the blog.

can some one please do a walkthrough of how to acquire this for people,

including people not using Chrome because their computer just hates it.

Go to the official new xkit tumblr: https://new-xkit-extension.tumblr.com/

And find the link you need:

They have a link for Chrome, Firefox and Safari.

Go to the relevant page for you. This is the firefox one: https://github.com/new-xkit/XKit/releases/tag/v7.8.2#_=_

Click the most recent download link, and follow the instructions. If you encounter the error they list at the bottom, following the provided instructions on the page will fix it.

Firefox will ask you if you want to install this extension, say yes. It will appear with your other browser extensions. You may be prompted to restart firefox (I forget), but you will certainly need to refresh tumblr to get it working. Once you’ve refreshed tumblr this icon will appear:

Click on it, and it will open the xkit utilities. Click on the bottom tab that says “get extensions” which will open the extensions page. Use the search bar to look for tag related modifications, install Tag Viewer.

Refresh tumblr again and notice this little icon at the bottom of all posts:

(I also have reply viewer, post blocker and one of tumblrs official “see where the most notes came from” extensions. It actually works pretty well.)

Click on that icon, and then let the list box load, it will show you what people have tagged the posts as, for example, this post:

And hopefully that should be it working for you!

My addition: Are the gods *real* in your world? Do they walk among the people? Do they have human-like personalities, or are they alien to us? Are gods super powerful, or weak? Multiple gods? A single god? How do people organize to worship/fight the gods? What are the gods’ goals, and how do they conflict or mesh with the goals of human groups? *Are* there humans, or just some sort of humanoid being?

Enjoy! ASL is a beautiful language isn’t it?

Be sure to pick up a few non swearing signs too. We deafies always appreciate if you do know these so we can say hi. Here’s resources you can use to learn more signs:

The ASL App, Lifeprint.com, ASLpro.com, and Gallaudet.edu’s learning ASLmasterlist: www3.gallaudet.edu/clerc-center/info-to-go/asl/learning-asl-books_media_classes.html

*Note: I am a native ASL user who have used ASL my whole life. I’ve also had my several ASL fluent deaf friends to check and give me feedback.

Senate postpones Canada Post back-to-work legislation decision until Monday

allthecanadianpolitics:

allthecanadianpolitics:

The Senate opted to push a final decision on the government’s proposed Canada Post back-to-work legislation to Monday, after hours of debate and witness testimony.

Senators were prepared to sit on Sunday, if necessary, but after nearly eight hours of witness testimony and debate, they decided to reschedule the third and final reading of Bill C-89 for Monday afternoon.

That means back-to-work legislation could come into effect as early as Tuesday afternoon, if the legislation is passed on Monday.

The rare weekend sitting saw intense discussions about the government’s motivation for forcing workers back to their jobs, partisan quips and concerns over violations of charter rights.

The controversial bill, if passed, would go into effect at noon ET on the day following royal assent.

Canadian Senators are voting on this draconian back to work legislation monday. It can fail to pass into law if Senators vote against it.

A voter guide for the 100 million who are not planning to vote

realcleverissues:

daaaaaaaaaaamnnn!!! This is SOOOOOOOOOO good!!

It’s basically a national level issues guide. Highly recommend – esp if you’re “not that into politics” and want a quick summary of the big issues right now based on party leadership

Policies > Party

Just a few examples:

1. Do you want comprehensive background checks in order to buy a gun in America?

One hundred percent of the total sponsors of Background Check Expansion Act are Democrats. The only way for this to happen is to vote for Democrats.

2. Do you want to build a wall on the U.S. border with Mexico?

While there are some Democrats who support “the wall,” 100 percent of the sponsors of the Build the Wall, Enforce the Law Act are Republicans. The only way for this to happen is to vote for Republicans.

3. Do you want mandatory coverage for pre-existing conditions?

One hundred percent of those who voted for the Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare) were Democrats; 100 percent of the Democrats in Congress voted against the ObamaCare repeal endorsed by Donald Trump. Republicans have made numerous attempts to repeal ObamaCare since Trump took office, and voted dozens of times during the Obama administration. The only way for that to continue to happen is to vote for Democrats.

7. Do you want equal pay for women in America?

Of the 247 sponsors of
the Paycheck Fairness Act, to close loopholes that prevent women from
receiving less than $1 for every $1 a man makes at the same work, 246
are Democrats. Only one is a Republican. The only way for that to happen is to vote for Democrats.

8. Do you want to get money out of politics?

There are 162 sponsors of the Government By the People Act; 29 sponsors of the Fair Elections Now Act; and 16 sponsors
of the We the People Democracy Reform Act, to reduce the role of money
and big money lobbyists in American elections and American politics. At
207 total, 206 are Democrats. Of the 217 total sponsors of the DISCLOSE Act, to disclose the identities of corporate “dark money donors,” all are Democrats. The only way for that to happen is to vote for Democrats.

I WOULD PAY TEN TIMES AS MUCH FOR CHOCOLATE IF IT MEANT REDUCING THE AMOUNT OF SLAVES IN THE WORLD? HOW IS THIS ANY KIND OF PROBLEM.

good news, you can! the company’s called Tony’s Chocolonely and their entire purpose is to make slave-free chocolate and reform the chocolate industry.

https://tonyschocolonely.com/us/en

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony%27s_Chocolonely

Whole Foods carries it. If you don’t want to support an Amazon-owned company, World Market carries it. You can also buy it directly from the company.

It’s the best chocolate I’ve ever had and it’s 100% slave free. Tony’s Chocolonely works really hard to push for transparency within the chocolate industry and actually has and is following an action plan to eliminate slavery within cocoa production. They’re good people who make good chocolate.

A list of slavery-free chocolate companies:

As a certified Chocolate Snob™, I HIGHLY recommend Aldi/Trader Joe’s (they’re owned by the same company) for chocolate. It’s cheap and great quality for the price, and almost all of it is Fair Trade and/or UTZ certified. TJ’s dark chocolates are a little more expensive but also a little higher quality than Aldi’s, I’d say, but Aldi beats a lot of more expensive stuff (such as Nestle that’s for sure). And TJ’s cocoa powder is noticeably tastier than the Kroger store brand for the same (or lower) price!

I… I didn’t even know there was still slavery in the chocolate industry… and the fact that Cadbury’s isn’t on the slave-free list makes me feel kind of sick cause they’re what I usually buy…
